1. There is a science behind it.
Eyebrows are the base of the face. They balance the rest of the facial features and give us a finished and polished look. It is not a random hair removal but rather an enhancement of what we already have. -
2. Understanding asymmetry.
As they say, eyebrows are sisters, not twins. Trying to make them exactly the same might end up in a disaster. Every little hair matters. Remember, it takes time to grow them back! -
3. Finding the balance.
Correctly shaped eyebrows will naturally appear fuller and longer even without a touch of makeup. -
4. Choosing the right tools and methods is the key.
While threading has become popularized over the last few years, it is important to understand that just like waxing it only cleans up the areas around the brow lines and removes the unwanted hairs, but what really makes the brows look coiffed and precise is tweezers. -
5. Going happy with scissors is not a great idea.
Just like having your hair cut, the same is true for trimming the eyebrows. It's all about creating a nice soft texture. Don't cut them in a straight line. That will only result in an unkempt look. Instead brush through with a clean mascara wand and trim a hair at a time, and only if needed. -
6. Go for a "customeyezed" shape instead of following the trend.
We are all different and so are our eyebrows. They are there for a reason to compliment our own unique facial features and bone structure. It's like creating your perfect basic clothing wardrobe that can be worn on any occasion. -
7. Keep it natural.
Isn't that great when your friends comment on that je ne sais quoi quality about you, when they have no idea why all of a sudden you look so much better and younger. -
8. Choosing the right grooming products.
Pencils, powders, tinted gels, pomades - they are all great and the choices are limitless! There's no right or wrong when it comes to eyebrow makeup. It's how you do it. Using lighter colors will give you a softer, younger look. The rule of thumb is to choose a shade or two lighter if you are a brunette, half the shade or a shade darker for blondes. Or just have fun with your makeup and see what looks good! -
9. Consistency.
Once you achieve the desired shape, stick with it. Talk to an expert if you wish to change it. -
10. Maintaining at home in between the visits to a professional is totally fine.
Just remember, less is always more! A good brow specialist will give you the shape that will last.
Clients often say, "my eyebrows don't grow anymore, can you do anything about it?" Yes, everyone's eyebrows can be improved! Even those that are sparse and over plucked. Consult your favorite eyebrow "doctor". You'll be surprised!
